Tina Bullen
I taught for many years, but now I no longer teach, I am focusing upon my artistic practice. As I entered this phase of life, I have been working on building up my web presence, have sold several works and completed many commissions. I am focusing now on expanding my exhibition experience.
I was born and live in Colchester, Essex. While at university in Canterbury, I tried various disciplines, such as printmaking and sculpture, but my passion was and always will be painting. I work in a mainly realistic style and aim to make a connection with the viewer via colour and composition.
I tend to find my inspiration in nature. Topics for works have been landscapes, seascapes, flowers, fruits, animals, hormones, water and hand portraits. Although much of the work is representational, there is always something else going on underneath, another idea being communicated. Sometimes cheeky and silly; sometimes yearning; sometimes downright melacholic.
