Thorunn Björn Bacon

Thorunn Björn Bacon LRPS (Licentiate Royal Photographic Society) is a photographer who works in digital print and alternative printing mediums such as Intaglio and Cyanoprint.

Thorunn draws strongly from her Icelandic heritage which is deeply rooted in connection to the landscape and the elements, and infused with myth and folklore and fairytales, The unseen ‘other world’ runs parallel with the ‘ordinary’ world, but at times the two slip and merge to create a magical reality.

In a time when technology is advancing at a breakneck pace, deepening our connection to nature and the sense that there might be something ‘other’ can sustain us and enrich us. Stories and myths have been carried in our psyche for millennia, and that is what makes us human and separates us from machines.
