Sue Bennett
My paintings are a representation of the experience of seeing.
I start by drawing and drawing until I find some shape or line that inspires me, then on to paint on canvas. What happens next is mysterious to me, the painting itself suggests the way forward.
I like to make colours ‘sing’. When I first started to paint I was inspired by the brilliance of the colours in stained glass windows.
My favourite artists are:
Spencer Gore, Egon Schiele, Roger Hilton and Eduardo Chillida
