Jacqueline Taber
Jacqueline Taber was born and brought up in London.
In 1963 she went to Florence to study art and Italian. She worked at the Gabinetto del Restauro at the Uffizi and in the afternoon to the studio of Signorina Simi. Jacqueline was in Florence at the time of the floods in 1966 where it was literally all hands to the pump.
She married in 1968 and set up home in Essex. Continuing with restoration as well as acting as her husband Lincoln’s assistant when he painted murals.
She then returned to painting and was fortunate to be offered two solo exhibitions. Unfortunately Lincoln died in 1989.
Jacqueline remarried in 1992 to David Wolfers who owned the New Grafton Gallery in London. She worked for him two days a week while continuing to paint and restore paintings.
She exhibits regularly at the Mall Galleries, The Royal Academy Summer Exhibition as well as solo exhibitions at the Russell Gallery in London as well as with the Colchester Art Society and the Geedon Gallery.
David Wolfers died in 2001. As well as continuing painting and picture restoration she owns the Geedon Gallery.
Jacqueline is a member of the Colchester Art Society, Art Workers Guild and of the Royal Society of British Artists.
