Hugh Beattie
Hugh Beattie is a traditional oil painter specialising in portraits, architectural landscapes and a wide range of figurative work. Hugh works on exhibition projects and on commission. He has just finished a solo show at 340 The Kings Road London, including many new views of London.
In 2016 Hugh moved his studio from Fulham to Colchester's Eight Ash Green and soon immersed himself in the art community of the area. He has travelled globally on painting tours to Bosnia, Rome, Penang and Helmand. Hugh has produced many prize winning works for the British Army. In between commissions, he also focuses on diverse subjects that interest him. His last exhibition was London Ancient & Modern, which took place on Pall Mall in 2015 and before that, Landscape of the Body an exhibition in Farringdon.
Hugh paints portrait work continuously alongside his gallery work, his portrait commissions have included historical figures, royalty and family portraits. Furthermore, he is now painting landscapes from drones at 400 feet.
