I'm a mixed media abstract artist and my work is inspired by my daily dog walks through the Suffolk countryside that surrounds me and my wild, wildlife garden. I just love playing with paint, thinking about the colours I see outside, and how being in nature makes me feel.
I don't plan much. I create intuitively, from my imagination, until the painting chooses to reveal itself. This process leads to the build up of many layers. A process resulting in a beautifully textured surface full of past ideas, scratches, scrapes, washes, marks and colour.
This way of painting makes me really happy. It's a free-flowing process where the painting decides what it wants to be. It's my way of capturing the joy and spontaneity that comes from being creative in the moment.
